自从我为Blog的首页增加了"名人名言"栏目之后，每次打开日志，都可以看到一条随机显示的英语引语。几个月下来，发现印象最深的还是王尔德的几句俏皮话。

活着是世上最稀有的事情。大多数人只是存在而已。

王尔德（Oscar Wilde）是19世纪末英国著名作家，词典里把他称为wit(机智的人)，我还没有见过第二个用这个词形容的作家呢。
他活着的时候就很出名，主要原因不是因为他的作品，而是因为他总是做一些吸引眼球的事情。比如，穿一身华丽而古怪的装束招摇过市，搞搞同性恋什么的。最后还因此惹上了官司，被关进了牢里。这个人要是活在现在，估计也是轰动一时的人物，三天两头可以上报纸的娱乐版。
他确实有才华，但是崇尚浮华，有些玩世不恭，不踏实。他的作品确实有些地方写得很出彩，但整体上不算第一流。他的人生也是悲剧性的，50岁出头就一文不名地死了。
看看他的引语，我有时会被逗乐，但是更多的时候，还是提醒自己，要脚踏实地的做人和求学。
