国际标准书目著录（ISBD）
我最近想找一套可以描述书籍的元数据。这个其实是不难的，只要参考现成资料就可以了，因为每个图书馆都必然有一套登记书目的标准。
现在世界上通行的文献著录标准主要有两种，一种是《国际标准书目著录》（International Standard Bibliographic Description，简称ISBD），另一种是《英美编目条例第二版》（Anglo-American Cataloging Rules: 2，简称AACR2）。前者是国际图书馆联合会（IFLA）搞的，后者在北美和英国通行。
ISBD的著录规则简单来说是这样的，每种资料的描述大致可以分为8个部分：
* Area 1（题目和责任者）: title and statement of responsibility (for example: author, editor, artist).
* Area 2（版本）: edition.
* Area 3（内容的范围）: material- (or type of resource-) specific information (for example, the scale of a map or the numbering of a periodical).
* Area 4（出版和发行）: publication and distribution.
* Area 5（物理形态）: physical description (for example: number of pages in a book or number of CDs in the same jewel case).
* Area 6（丛书信息）: series.
* Area 7（附注）: notes.
* Area 8（标准编号）: standard number (ISBN, ISSN).
请看下面这个例子，这是图书馆中的一张目录卡：
Comics & sequential art / by Will Eisner. — [Expanded edition]. — Tamarac, Florida : Poorhouse Press : North Light Books [distributor], 1990. — 164 p. : ill. ; 29 cm. — Includes index. — ISBN 0-9614728-1-2 (paperback) ; ISBN 0-9614728-0-4 (hardcover)
其中，“Comics & sequential art / by Will Eisner.”是第一区，“[Expanded edition]”是第二区，“Tamarac, Florida : Poorhouse Press : North Light Books [distributor], 1990.”是第四区，“164 p. : ill. ; 29 cm.”是第五区，“Includes index.”是第七区，“ISBN 0-9614728-1-2 (paperback) ; ISBN 0-9614728-0-4 (hardcover)”是第八区。
再看一个简化的例子：
Comics & sequential art / by Will Eisner. — 2nd ed. — Tamarac, Florida : Poorhouse Press, 1990.
在这个书目信息中，只包含第一区、第二区和第四区。
