I stumbled across your site and I'm sorry to say I don't like your translation at all. Translating poetry is difficult enough at the best of times and Emily Dickinson's poems are such that they could mean different things to different people. For example you think the first sentence means that she lost two loved ones (closed twice before its close), I think that is too arbitrary and poetic characteristic of her work is somewhat lost by your putting words in her mouth. "closed twice" to me can mean any events of significance; certainly deaths are significant but it's not the only possible meaning. Someone else said heartbreak and you can't deny that certainly is a possibility too. Having said that, however I applaude your attempt but I think it's best to leave the original poem as it is until a better translation is found.
