在这里我觉得burden应译为负担,and做连接词在这里并不表示并列关系,而是表示轻微的转折关系,即他们的这些才智与学历是他们的优势,但从另外一方面而言又是一种负担,一种拖累. 这样的翻译就与前面所有内容呼应了,因为罗琳的巨大成功源自与极度失败的体验,这也是为什么她在这段话中用But开头的原因.
